Love the Lord Jesus

"How sweet the name of Jesus sounds in a believer's ear; it soothes his sorrows, heals his wounds, and drives away his fears."

Jesus Christ is the most important person in any church any where. He deserves first place in our preaching and teaching, and nothing in the church should be allowed to surpass the attention and love given to Him.

There is nobody like Jesus. In John 1, we read, "We beheld His glory." He is human, yet divine--strong, yet tender. He is our Redeemer, yet He will judge the world. He died, yet He lives today. He came to us once, and will come again. All will someday bow before Him (Philippians 2:9-11).

Jesus said, "As the Father has sent me, so send I you." He said, "You are my disciples if you do whatever I command you." He wants our service. He wants us to live His way--the way of love for all. He wants us to witness to others. He wants us to find and celebrate our purpose in life.

We can always love Him more. Our relationship with Him is personal. We don't just "turn over a new leaf" or "follow His teachings;" we love Him. He died for each one of us. We Love Him. The gospel cannot be separated from the person of Jesus. We love Him.

"I love you, Lord! You answered my prayers. You paid attention to me, and so I will pray to you as long as I live" (Psalm 116:1-2).
