The Apostle Paul wrote, "..God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world (Galatians 6:14 KJV).

Dottie Rambo was born in Madisonville, Kentucky, in 1934, during the Great Depression. She grew up in poverty and learned to play a guitar while listening at night to WSM radio in Nashville. At age 8, she started writing songs while sitting on a creek bank near her Kentucky home. She grew to excel as a singer/songwriter and greatly influenced the world of Christian music. She wrote at least 2500 songs. She died in a tragic accident in 2008.

I WILL GLORY IN THE CROSS
Words and Music by Dottie Rambo
circa 1979

I boast not of works nor tell of good deeds
For naught have I done to merit His grace
All glory and praise shall rest upon Him
So willing to die in my place

I will glory in the cross, in the cross
Lest his suffering all be in vain
I will weep no more for the cross that He bore
I will glory in the cross

My trophies and crowns, my robes stained with sin
Were all that I had to lay at His feet
Unworthy to feast from the table of life
'Till God made provision for me

I will glory in the cross, in the cross
Lest his suffering all be in vain
I will weep no more for the cross that He bore
I will glory in the cross

In the cross, in the cross
Be my glory 'ever

I will weep no more for the cross that He bore
I will glory, I will glory, I will glory in the cross
